Minetre Martin
Advocacy & Communications Manager
Minetre Martin is the Advocacy and Communications Manager of DFER DC and its affiliate nonpartisan, nonprofit organization ERN DC. With over a decade of experience in education and three years specializing in political advocacy, communications strategy, and grassroots mobilization, she is dedicated to advancing educational equity and policy change in Washington, DC.
Minetre has organized and led high-impact advocacy campaigns, helping to securing million in funding for critical education initiatives, expanding dual enrollment, improving attendance policies, and strengthening literacy programs. She has developed and executed multi-channel communications strategies, crafted targeted messaging for policymakers, and spearheaded voter engagement efforts.
Previously, Minetre was a research assistant at American University, where she co-authored a published study in the Journal of School Psychology analyzing the impact of restorative practices on school discipline and racial equity. She also has a background in teaching and curriculum framework development, mentoring educators and tutoring.
Passionate about empowering communities and shaping the future of education, Minetre continues to leverage research, advocacy, and strategic communications to drive systemic change. When she’s not leading policy efforts, she enjoys playing chess and exploring the art of perfumery, always seeking new ways to inspire and uplift the next generation of leaders.
